Saranap

SARANAP

This neighborhood’s namesake comes from the original Saranap Railway station which was located at the corner of Tice Valley and Olympic Boulevard. This railway station was named after Sarah Naphtaly, the wife of the president of the San Ramon Valley Railroad at that time. The surrounding area was transformed from the Naphtaly family’s apple and pear orchards into a quaint neighborhood of ranch homes and tree-lined streets.

The Saranap neighborhood is in the unincorporated part of Walnut Creek and includes properties in two different school districts: the Walnut Creek School District and the Lafayette School District. Neighborhood highlights include two private swim clubs, Dewing Park and Sun Valley, as well as convenient proximity to freeway commuting, downtown shopping, Acalanes open space, and the Lafayette-Moraga trail.
