The city of Walnut Creek being nearly 20 square miles is served by as many as four public school districts: San Ramon Valley School District to the far south at the Alamo border, Walnut Creek and Acalanes School Districts in the mid/south Walnut Creek areas and the Mt. Diablo School District to the North/North East areas. In addition, there are numerous fine private schools within the area as well.
