Walnut Heights / Indian Valley / Lakewood
Yes, there is a lake in Walnut Creek! The picturesque private lake is a hidden gem and the source of great envy of the few lucky residents who have a lakefront property in Walnut Creek. Even so, the Lakewood neighborhood has much to offer all of its residents:
The wooded winding streets and hillside views throughout much of the neighborhood give the neighborhood a unique feel that is unlike any other neighborhood in Walnut creek.
Located at the end of Marshall is the award-winning Indian Valley Elementary School and access to the Shell Ridge Open Space. Shell Ridge offers many hiking trails that connect to Borges Ranch (located in the Northgate neighborhood) and the East Bay Regional Open Space to the south. Mother Nature puts on a lovely display of wildflowers in the spring that is not to be missed.
The Indian Valley Swim Club is also located just below the elementary school and is a great place to spend those warm summer afternoons. They offer a swim team, swimming lessons and recreational space. For more information: http://www.ivsc.net/.
